Wrexham are weighing up a £3million offer for Hull City defender Alfie Jones.
The 27-year-old has been drawing attention from a number of clubs including Middlesbrough but Championship newcomers Wrexham are hoping to steal a march on their rivals.
Jones is 6ft 3” tall and can play in midfield or defence where he has been utilised for his ability to intercept and read the game.
He started out at Southampton but has gone on to make over 190 appearances for Hull, scoring twice.
He was Hull’s player of the year in 2023 but is now in the final year of his contract.
His team-mate and fellow defender Sean McLoughlin could also soon be departing the club with Blackburn Rovers keen on securing his services.
