Bristol City star set to become the latest Scot to hit Serie A… as Italian top flight goes ga-ga for Tartan talent

Ross McCrorie could be the next Scot to head for Italy — with Udinese weighing up a move for the Bristol City midfielder.

Established at Ashton Gate, the 27-year-old has interest from fellow Championship side Norwich City, but it’s the Serie A outfit who look primed to pay the £3.5million asking price.

Udinese, who are set to sign Lennon Miller from Motherwell for £4.75m, have also identified McCrorie as key to their plans of pushing for a European place this season.

The former Rangers and Aberdeen player joined City in 2023 after three years at Pittodrie and was part of Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad at last year’s European Championships.

If the moves go through, McCrorie and Miller would join the growing band of Scots playing in Italy.

Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour won the title last year with Napoli, with the former also nominated for the ballon d’Or.

Che Adams has spent the last year with Torino, Josh Doig is at Sassuolo while Liam Henderson has just joined Sampdoria, having already played for no fewer than five Italian clubs across the past seven seasons.

Udinese, who are managed by German boss Kosta Runjaic, already boast former Aston Villa forward Keinan Davis and one-time Celtic striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo in their squad.
