Arsenal are set to open contract talks with Bukayo Saka over a new deal.

The 23-year-old England international signed his current contract in 2022, but that expires in the summer of 2027.

The Gunners want to avoid any uncertainty regarding their star player’s future and will make securing Saka to a longer contract a priority.

The process is expected to accelerate in the near future for a player who is sure to be of interest to numerous rivals across England and Europe.

Saka has been sidelined since December after sustaining a serious hamstring tear in the 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace in December.

The injury required surgery, and the winger is due to ramp up his return to match fitness this week.

Mikel Arteta said on Sunday that Saka has a ‘good chance’ of returning to action after the international break, with Arsenal playing Fulham on April 1.

As well as Saka, defensive duo William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are also out of contract in 2027, both of whom are likely to draw interest from across Europe’s elite clubs.

The central defensive duo have become perhaps the best partnership in the country, and will be up there with those in Europe, and their solidity at the back has been crucial to Arsenal’s rise.
