Arsenal winger Marquinhos, 20, is wanted on loan by French side Nantes.

The Brazil Under 20 international had a spell on loan with Norwich last season.

However, he struggled to assert himself at Carrow Road, scoring just one goal and adding a sole assist in 11 Championship games.

Marquinhos had initially impressed after joining the Gunners from Sao Paulo last summer as he was handed minutes in the Europa League.

In fact, he scored and assisted on his debut during a 2-1 win over FC Zurich in the group stage.

He wasn’t able to kick on however, as he racked up just one minute of Premier League football before he was sent out on loan for more regular gametime.

Nantes finished 16th in Ligue 1 last season, narrowly avoiding relegation by one point.

They scored just 37 goals in 38 league games and would therefore be looking to Marquinhos to provide an increased attacking threat for the side.

The Ligue 1 outfit are coached by Pierre Aristouy and have former Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko among their ranks.

Arsenal play Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday before they begin their Premier League campaign at home to Nottingham Forest next Saturday lunchtime.
